Originally considered as an ending for the boulevard Unter den Linden the gate made of sandstone developed into one of the most important landmarks in Berlin and should not be missed in a Berlin visit.

As the conference venue of the German Bundestag the Reichstagsgebäude is the most important building in Berlin. Even though the architecture of this building is very impressive especially the spectacular dome and the visitor terrace are in the focus of tourists. The “Goldelse” how many people call the Victoria on top of the Siegessäule should remind of the victories of Prussia against Denmark, Austria and France in 1864, 1866 and 1870/71. As a reward for climbing the 285 steps you receive a view above the Tiergarten and the neighbouring castle Bellevue.
Just a 20-minute walk from Boutique Hotel i31 and you reach Hackesche Höfe. Northern of the Alexanderplatz you can find the Hackesche Höfe. With its eight connected courtyards it belongs to Spandau’s suburb. Stroll and rummage in the small shops, boutiques, unusual galleries and studios, have a feast in one of the restaurants or nightclubs or enjoy a showing in the cinema or performance in a theatre.

The Gendarmenmarkt is 10 minutes away (U6 Naturkundemuseum until Französische Strasse) from Boutique Hotel i31. Bordered by the three monumental buildings Deutscher Dom (German Cathedral), Französischer Dom (French Cathedral) and the Konzerthaus (Concert Hall) the Gendarmenmarkt is one of the most varied and exclusive squares in Berlin. It is placed in the middle of numerous restaurants and cafés, luxurious shops and boutiques, hotels and banks and much more.
As one of the most important traffic junctions between Mitte and Tiergarten the Potsdamer Platz offers everything that makes the big city heart beat faster. You can find a lot from huge cinema auditoriums through shopping centres to fine restaurants to spend a couple of nice hours. The bordering Sony Center with its sensational roof offers enough space for art and culture, entertainment, gastronomy and many more.

Originally built to lead the Berliners back to faith the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche with its ruined tower is a memorial for war and destruction. After the church was almost completely destroyed during the Second World War, the hexagonal belfry with the chapel was inaugurated in the east of the tower in 1961 and the octagonal church and the foyer in the west.

The Berlin Wall Memorial is only 700m from the Boutique Hotel i31. Part of the exhibition with historical audio and visual material is outside on the former border strip. The documentation center on the other side of Bernauer Strasse shows the history of building the wall in 1961.
